Stepping out of the underground station “Boddinstraße” (U-Bahn U8), only a couple of meters away you will find “Two Planets” – a relatively new and popular café managed by a couple of seemingly relaxed guys.
Only opened in April 2016, they create some extraordinary, and almost entirely vegan, dishes, foremost a number of “dope ass toast”. What exactly is that? Well, it can only be described as superyummy bread (from the Danish bakery The Bread Station) topped with a combination of exquisite ingredients. These “sandwiches” come with a topping of soy-mushrooms (our favourite), avocado, bruschetta or sweet options (“sweet ass toast”) such as PBJ or peanut butter and banana.

Besides food, they serve excellent and very affordable coffee (2,30€ for a soy cappuccino, 2,60€ for oat), fresh juices and soy smoothies named after icons of pop culture. They include the “David Hasselhoff” – a banana, peanut butter and oat smoothie, the “George Clooney”, the “Hugh Heffner” (strawberries, goji berries, banana) and the “Julia Roberts”, which comes with avocado, dates, spinach, and banana.
The staff – from what we found out they are from England and New Zealand – are usually up for a chat (primarily in English), making each visit somewhat special.
It can be quite busy during the weekend, but is definitely worth the visit.

There are a couple (about 6-8) seats available outside; about 15-20 inside. The inside is furnished a couple of smaller chairs and tables divided into the front and back room. There are about 20 to 25 seats available inside.
The walls are usually covered with designs, postcards and pictures (some may find them provocative =) ) by local artists. In terms of art, the staff seems to have a fondness of sausages…

The atmosphere inside is usually very chilled with some hip-hop, rock or electronic music playing in the background and some regulars getting work done on their computers. The café itself advertises its “free slow Wi-Fi”.
Guests include artists and hip students from Neukölln, but also some Berlin folk more advanced in age.
We recommend “The Mushy Toast”, the “Two Planets Salad”, a coffee and a “George Clooney” (mixed berries, banana, chia) soy smoothie. But seriously, try everything – we have never been disappointed.
We visited “Two Planets” in September 2018.
