Started as a concept for a bachelor thesis, “Réger Burger” became a fully-funded crowdfunding project in November 2015 with the actual food truck being finished in the beginning of 2016.

Since then the team of Réger Burger has been touring festivals (Lollapalooza), food events (The Green Market Berlin, Veganes Sommerfest Berlin, Burgers & HipHop), weekly markets as well as private events.

The menu usually includes the “No Girlfriend Burger” with vegan cheese sauce and nachos, a “BBQ Burger” with a black bean patty and grilled onions, fries and a plant-based “Curry-Vurst”. Extras such as ramson pesto, mac and cheese or jalapeños are also regular guests on the menu. Depending on the event, the menu might include other options.

Most ingredients are sourced from organic and regional farmers and producers. Unlike other vegan restaurants or food trucks, Réger Burger is not emphasising that all its food it plant-based. Their concept is based on great taste – so great that it will also convince omnivores. This idea seems to be successful – so successful in fact that they even made it to German television.

In the past, they collaborated with Brammibal’s Donuts for their “BURGER NIGHTS”. There, guests could get a special vegan burger-donut-meal.

Just recently they also announced that they will be opening their own restaurant (“Neue Republik Réger“). We’re excited!

Prices are very fair – a large burger is about 7 to 8€. To explain the price setup, Réger Burger actually introduced a chart on their food truck, listing all costs involved in creating a burger – from staff costs, truck repair to insurance, profits and, of course, ingredients.

Check their Facebook for the current location of the truck as well as news about the upcoming restaurant.

We recommend the “No Girlfriend Burger” with a black bean patty, vegan cheese sauce and nachos.

We visited “Réger Burger” in September 2017.
