Quite common with falafel places, at “Kiez Falafel” you can choose between a sandwich and a plate meal. A sandwich is about 3 euros while a plate goes for about 6€.

Except for the Halloumi-dishes, all other meals are vegan. You can get a falafel plate including hummus, eggplant mousse (baba ghanoush), fresh salad and sesame sauce. There is also a “Vegetable plate” including marinated veggies, hummus, eggplant mousse, couscous, and salad.

The simplicity, taste, and freshness of the food here make it one of the best Middle-Eastern food places in Mitte.

Appetizers - vegan fried avocados and vegetarian asparagus salad

The difference to other falafel places is the wholemeal dark bread as well as the focus on fresh veggies and the large variety of marinated and fried vegetables.

During lunch hours, Kiez Falafel becomes quite crowded, so expect to wait a little for your food to be ready.

It’s possible to sit outside (15-20seats); inside there is space for 20 to 25 people.

We recommend the “Vegetable Falafel Plate”.

We visited “Kiez Falafel” in September 2017.
