Good Bank is a new place located in Berlin Mitte near Alexanderplatz. It just opened in March 2017 and  is labeled “vertical farm restaurant”.

What does that mean exactly? It means that inside the restaurant there are huge ventilated shelves behind glass doors. Inside, different kinds of lettuce and kale is growing and harvested for some of the menu options. This in fact means that you will get your food directly “from the field”, as fresh as it gets.

Good Bank Restaurant in Berlin Mitte

The idea behind Good Bank is the ever-growing need for farm land. A solution, which recently grew in popularity, especially in space-lacking cities, is vertical farming. Good Bank uses this concept inside the restaurant as a great source for fresh food as well as a futuristic visual eyecatcher.

It is a typical hip Mitte-place, playing Hiphop and working with bright LED-Lighting.

Staff hear speak English and seem friendly and chilled.

Vegan choices include a seasonal bowl, a grain bowl including freshly harvested kale, a vegetable sandwich as well as a soup and some snacks. If you like, you can also mix a bowl yourself. They also serve coffee and cake (vegan and raw).

Non-vegans can choose from a wide variety of meats and fish included in their bowls and sandwiches.

There are about 20 seats inside – all alongside a bar-like table (so you will sit side by side). Although the atmosphere inside Good Bank is not supercosy, if the weather allows it, take your food outside onto Rosa-Luxemburg-Straße and watch the crowds.

We recommend to check Good Bank out if you are up for new food experience in a Sci-Fi-inspired restaurant.
