Dolores is a Mexican-Californian restaurant with two locations in Berlin. Its menu includes vegan burritos, bowls, salad, soft tacos and corn chips.
The menu includes two fixed burritos or burrito bowls. However, all items on the menu can be prepared vegan.
They also have a “Build your own”-option, which allows you to put together your own burrito, bowl, salad etc. Here you have the choice of selecting your preferred rice, beans, salsa, grilled extras such as soy meat as well as other extras like guacamole or corn chips. Most dishes actually include a small portion of the homemade corn chips, so you probably won’t miss out.
Everything is always prepared freshly in front of your eyes. Once you stir up your burrito bowl, the combination of rice, beans, veggies, and salsa becomes a mixture, of which you will want more, more, more.
Especially during lunch hours when the employees of the area are streaming in, the place becomes very crowded and you may have to accept a longer wait for your food. Make sure to call in advance if you are in a hurry.
The atmosphere inside is very lively, which in part stems from the number of guests, but also from the music, the colourful interior and music playing. The walls are covered with colourful posters and picture frames, the furniture is painted red and fits the Mexican theme.
There is no table service here – you order and pick up your food at the counter. Prices are very, very fair (you could even say cheap) for the size of the dishes and the freshness of the ingredients.
We recommend a vegan salad with “Lime Cilantro Soy Meat” or the “Vegan Friend” burrito bowl.
We visited “Dolores” in October 2017.
