Being a fully vegetarian diner, “Der Vegetarische Metzger” is serving burgers, currywurst, fries, chili as well as soup. At the moment they call themselves a “concept store” and just recently opened a second location in Friedrichshain.

Besides the freshly prepared food, they sell a large variety of plant-based and vegetarian meat substitutes made from soy protein, vegetables, and lupines. The product range covers chicken chunks, minced “meat”, beef strips, croquette, spring rolls, chicken skewers and smoked bacon bits.

The burgers itself are quite large and packed with veggies, “meat” (patty or shawarma) and sauces. When we visited, we had a vegan “Green Army Burger” with shawarma substitute, avocado, onions, pickles, tomato, lettuce and yummy sauce.

The restaurant itself offers space for about 30 people. In summer, there are a couple of tables outside as well. A burger menu is about 10€, a single burger about 7€.

We recommend a burger (shawarma or chicken).

We visited “Der Vegetarische Metzger” in Kreuzberg in November 2017.
